About Us
The first Baptist Church in the United States was organized in 1639, in Providence, RI.  In 1707
several Baptist Churches began to associate with each other in Philadelphia.  Although Baptists
had always recognized the autonomy of the local church, they discovered cooperation in a unity
of mission

Six churches formed the Wabash Valley Baptist Association in September 1962.  Twenty-five
churches and missions work together today in the greater Lafayette area fulfilling  the great
commission of Christ.

More than 3,000 members constitute our churches.  We are a relatively new association.  Our
State Convention of Baptists in Indiana is only 47 years old.  Four hundred and twenty-five
congregations work  joyfully together to advance the Kingdom of God.  Our area is a great place
to live and serve

Come visit us!  You will be blessed and we will be blessed by you.  Pray for us and contact us.
